Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. I simply loved this movie! The four stars (depicted in the pic above) turned in very good performances, as well as one of the most 'homoerotic' scenes in movie history between Bowie and Sakamoto. Ryuichi Sakamoto also wrote the movie's beautiful score, which includes "Forbidden Colours" which is very well known. Tom Conti's character is one of the most memorable in WWII movies as well.

FYI: Criterion is releasing this movie on DVD and BD next month! :D
Awesome flick with some really WTF!? and  moments.

Also, the main reason the score and title track to the movie is much more widely known than the film itself is due to the fact that Ryuichi Sakamoto is an incredible electronic, orchestral and classical musician:

If your talking about the Guy Ritchie movie. I gotta disagree. I had downloaded the UK cut which was just in my eyes a masterpiece especially with that blink and you'll miss it ending. The US copy though that I bought was just a horrible piece of crap and I still haven't seen it for the longest of time. This reminds me that I need to go and find a copy of the UK version.

I hate you.

I had to work today from 9 to 5 (my new schedule was to accommodate my mom working mornings at her new job, so she drops me off and heads to work, which is only a short walk away). I got up around 7:30, finally got motivated out of bed by about 10 til, and finally got on my way to work at 8:35, a.k.a "five minutes late", so I arrived with only 10 or so minutes to get ready for work.

Thanks for the links!

The Lost Honor of Katharina Blum. This W.German drama is like the 70s version of Mad City, only much better and more realistic. I love the Criterion Collection :)

I liked it, but think it is going to age horribly.

There is a STAR WARS marathon today on Spike. I may just watch my STAR WARS laserdiscs instead.

Unless the UK version was completely rewritten I don't see how a different cut could make it a good movie. When they have to bring in philosophers to explain the movie during the credits somebody did something wrong.
