Sony RPGs and other genres
Sony RPGs and other genres
I've been going around collecting games made or published by Sony. I guess ever since I've played games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Siren, Uncharted, or even Demon's Souls (a collaboration project with FromSoftware), I always felt that even Sony is doing their best to develop games that are fun to gamers. I've been paying a lot of attention to their rpgs as of late, especially some games like Dark Cloud and Arc the Lad, which are pretty cheap right now. I've put over 30 hours into Arc the Lad Twilight of the Spirits and I have to admit that the game is considered as one of the most underappreciated titles of all time and that's mainly because I don't see many people talk about the franchise or just Sony titles in general. If it weren't for AtLToS, I wouldn't have purchased the collection even though I knew it was made by other teams. I get tired of hearing people say that Sony games are simply not good enough and I think they are darn wrong. I hope to hear more from Sony especially if the company is planning on making any more rpgs just for the sake of expanding its library. I am excited for White Knight Chronicles 2, but I want to see more than one game.

yeah although sony isn't always the smartest when it comes to marketing, they make pretty awesome games. have you played legend of dragoon? it's actually quite fun. another game i enjoy is omega boost. it's an awesome 3d shooter. oh and of course ape escape is always a fun series. well the main titles at least.

Sony also created The Legend of Dragoon, which while it had its low points (specifically the second disc), I actually liked the combo system in battles, and the Dragoon transformations were pretty entertaining. I beat the game about ten years ago, but I remember having a lot of fun.

I agree, really liked that game. The combo system made combat a matter of skill rather than just something boring to get through before the next cutsceneAck wrote:Sony also created The Legend of Dragoon, which while it had its low points (specifically the second disc), I actually liked the combo system in battles, and the Dragoon transformations were pretty entertaining. I love Sony. A lot of the games they've publised or supported really show developers thinking outside the box like Ico, Little Big Planet, Mark of Kri and others. I think some of Sony's games really try and push gaming forward and I appreciate that. Games like Mar of Kri, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are some of the best "games as art" examples out there as well. Team Ico and Sucker Punch are two of my favorite development studios, and they typically makes games for Sony
I'm really loving Sony's hardware these days too. The PS3 and PSP are very impressive machines with some cool features you won't get from other consoles/portables. I don't dig the PSPGo however

I am only collecting ps1 onwards and I just recently started playing LOD and LOL. You guys should get ATLC asap as the prices have gone up. Now it takes about 50 dollars to buy the entire collection with all the bonuses.
