THIS. I read about heating clear plastic in the oven where its pliable and bent over a pre-made clay mold.
Send out the bat signal, I think it was Bacteria the portable custom case modder!
I don't think its such a good idea to pour hot molten plasitic on precision electronics... but thats just me :S
Er no, PLIABLE not liquid. PCB will go on after plastic is set.

ah so you arn't talking about a one piece cart, but a 2 piece cart with screwed joints?

I was thinking about a single piece with the cart cast around the board.

perhaps there will be heat issues forcing me to go with a 2 piece assembly?

It could be possible to vacform the parts needed. I'm not that sure how think of plastic can be used for that, Ive only used pretty thin stuff before. and making clear come out well can be tricky. With some trial and error I think vacforming would likely be the easiest/cheapest way to do it. I have access to one at school, I may look into it sometime.

Yes, definitely a 2 piece to avoid damaging the PCB. Either screwed together or epoxied afterwards.

Best to ask that paint guy where you pick up the resin from.
Any clear epoxy should work if you rough up the edges with sand paper first.

what would you guys recomend for mold material? I was thinking i could go with plaster for a high tolerance to keeping the origional shape, or should I go for flexable molds?
