snes vs nes

Post by mas »

I have a buddy of mine from work who wants to put up one of his systems up on ebay. He doesn't know which one, the nes or snes. My buddy has a good collection with the great classics for both systems and he just doesn't know. I told him that I would put up this post to ask gamers at racketboy to give mark advice. I personally told him that it was stupid and to box one system up and play with the other one for six months and then put it away and visa versa. So give mark advice please so I can show him what you guys think. Thank you very much gamers.

Why would you sell either is the answer you will get from every person here.

Personally I prefer the SNES library of games and feel they play better today, however as I grew up with the NES I feel a stronger nostalgic link to it.

I wouldn't part with either one of them, but a lot of what made the NES great was essentially upgraded on the S-NES. You like Zelda on the NES? Try Link to the Past on the S-NES. You like Punch Out on the NES? Try Super Punch Out on the SNES. You like RC Pro Am on the NES? Try Rock and Roll Racing on the SNES. You like Double Dragon on the NES? Try Super Double Dragon on the S-NES? You like Battletoads on the NES? Try Battletoads in Battlemaniacs on the SNES

You get the idea, if I had to keep one if would be the SNES

Im too old skool. There is absolutly no way I can get rid of my NES collection. I grew up with them. It will always be a part of me. LOL Same as SNES, but not as much as NES.

Mega Man wasn't improved on the SNES, so...

Anyway, the NES is home to plenty of classics, but even some of them haven't aged particularly well in some areas at least. So, if you absolutely have to choose, i'd say keep the SNES.

If your friend plans on getting more games, he should probably keep the NES. The obscure games (from what I've seen) are cheaper. Also, if he regrets his decision and tries to get the console back, working SNESes are easier to find.

Of course like everyone else, I say keep both consoles.

You didn't like any of the megaman games on the snes? No love for Megaman 7, Rock & Bass, Megaman X 1, Megaman X2 or Megaman X 3? Wow

I think jfrost was just talking about Mega Man Classic. I read a forum posts saying that Mega Man VII sucked.

Don't sell either. You'll regret it.

Personally, though, I like the NES better than the SNES. Maybe cause the NES has the original Contra on it, and that game kicks butt.

That's true, some people are still partial to the classic series and not everyone liked MM7. I liked it though and I thought Rockman & Bass was pretty cool

Course I love the MMX series a lot more, but I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea.

But yeah, anyway, you should really try and get your buddy to keep both consoles. Why does he want to get rid of one? Is he trying to free up space or is it a money thing?
