My Basement Game Room

Post by Unleaded Logic »

My summer/fall project is about half done and happy to say that my basement arcade is a joy to go down and play in, especially with all this heat.

Some of you may be familiar with my Neo Geo Washer/Dryer arcade cab, but I’ve added some more machines in the past few months…

Image

The first machine on the left is a 1982 Atari Space Duel Cab that I picked up for 50 bucks. The monitor and the PCB were pulled from it, so I decided to turn it into another MAME machine. I was able to reproduce the graphics from the control panel and get an overlay printed to keep the original theme of the machine intact.

The second machine is my Swinger pinball machine, I've already posted about this one, but its almost 100 percent rebuilt and working great.

The Neo-Geo-ish cab is also another MAME cab, I got the cab for free and this was my first arcade machine. Works great and is tons of fun.

The machine on the bar stand is a pachinko machine that I picked up for 50 bucks and it works great, minus one of the lights being out. It has a sports theme to it and while its not as interactive skill wise as pinball, its still fun.

This is my Donkey Kong Junior cocktail cab that I picked up last week for a great deal. My wife loves this one and finally gives me an excuse to get her down to the basement with me to play some of the machines. I'm looking to pickup a Donkey Kong PCB so I can switch them out when needed.

I also have a small air hockey table which is pretty fun as well.

Now begins the process of finishing the basement and putting up walls...I know its kinda ass backwards, but I couldn't pass up getting these games and such great deals.

Very jealous dude.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Me too, we've been pretty lucky because our house is a new construction and in the 8 years we've had it, no floods yet. I'm planning on doing a raised floor for the studio and arcade room though, so if it does flood; the machines are safe.
