spi firewall

Post by RCBH928 »

Hello,

I use torrent, and I always wanted to do an open port thing
I tried many times it never worked so I just gave up,
I am using an ISP with Wimax, i get good connection sometimes,
but at other times connections will be slow even downloading torrents with 200-500 seeders

I never thought I was behind firewall, but today i was looking into my router and found that there is an SPI firewall on

What is this? Shall I disable it?
does it affect anything?

using linksys router, which is very similar to this

Don't disable your firewall unless you want your machine to be more open to infections. You can see about opening up a port or range of ports in the firewall and possibly tell your torrent program to specifically go through those ports.
