New & Sealed Gunstar Future Heroes Question

Post by MikeyW »

Basically, my younger brother bought me a boxed copy of Gunstar Future Heroes for my birthday. I'm suspicious over whether it's actually new at all, but I'd like more information before I bring it up as he's quite young and I'd wouldn't want to hurt his feelings or anything by accident.

Firstly, it's been bought from ebay as a new and sealed game. However, it seems cheaply shrink wrapped with no Y-folds or red Nintendo ribbon. Also, when I shake the game, I can hear the contents rattling inside, but I've not opened the box yet. The box art is correct for the region I'm living in (the UK) and it has all the correct copyright information and company logos on the back and the front, as well as the correct PEGI classification. It also has what looks like a security sticker on the back. The box is in good condition and the nintendo seal of quality is present and has a shine to it.

If I had to guess it looks like it may be a used game in good condition that has been resealed. But I've read that some Sega don't have the same shrink wrapping as most other nintendo products.

Thanks for the help, any advice is appreciated.

I've seen a good number of non-first party GBA games in that loose style "cling film" wrapping. from memory my copy of Astor Boy (also Sega) when bought new had it and it was loose... I'd bought it from Game.

For all you know it could be an anything inside or defective cart. Open that puppy and play that game! I don't know why some put a higher value on a untested shrunk wrap vs new condition opened. Not like its the first issue of Superman comic in a bag.

I agree. Just open it and see unless your intentions were to keep it sealed. Even if it is used I wouldn't say anything about it if everything is correct and in good condition just to prevent hurting your brothers feelings.
