I Love My Neo-Geo Pocket Color!
Re: I Love My Neo-Geo Pocket Color!
Haha. Awesome. I was going to say, there aren't many from VA on here. Oh yeah, were you looking for a Turbo Express? Did you ever get one? I just bought a NGPC off ebay the other day.

My NGPC came in the mail today. I. Fucking. Love. This. Thing. Can't wait to play more games for it (there's a nice Buy It Now listing of 11 games for about 40 shipped), right now I only have Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure. The stick is great. I felt that I had great control over Sonic. Can't wait to play some fighters (and maybe Cotton) with it. The only problem I have with the Joystick is that people are probably going to get pissed at me because of the constant "click, clickity, clack".
I'm pretty impressed with SPA's graphics especially since it's a launch NGPC game. I like the special stages effects the most. They're faithfully replicated from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Genesis. I originally thought that the NGPC was on par with the GBC, but now I think it might be a notch above it. My favorite feature of the NGPC (so far) is the fact that I can choose how I want the NGP Black and White games to display. There's Classic (whatever that is), Black & White, Red, Green, and Blue.
EDIT: I didn't know you could change the color of Game Boy Black and White games with D-Pad and Button combinations. Thanks Wikipedia!

I may be the only one here who has a front lit modded NGPC lol Ive also got 3 other NGPC's mint in the boxes. I got them a couple of years back. So yes, I too love the system. Ive got a shit load of games for the system. Ive got a cool Baseball game for it called Dynamite Slugger. Its similar to Baseball Stars, but only released in Europe and Japan.
Ive also got a sealed copy of Crush Roller that I havent played. Turfmasters is also a fun game.

Well it's been several months and I am still in love with my NGPC. I enjoy the hell out of my PSP but I find myself going back to the Neo Geo frequently. I'm thinking about making it a daily thing.

As I sit here, writing on the pooper (if this is TMI, sorry bout that) My NGPC sits behind me with MOTM rested soundly in it's back.GSZX1337 wrote:My NGPC came in the mail today. I. Fucking. Love. This is probably my favorite and most played fighting game ever. Go get it now. I almost want to give it to you so you can see it's majesty.
I can't even describe in words why it is so good. It just is. trust me.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Re: I Love My Neo-Geo Pocket Color!
I completely agree. MoTM on the Neo Geo Pocket Color is my favorite fighting game of all time. Nothing even comes close! It has the perfect levels of difficulty, so that it can please genre newcomers, and still give seasoned veterans a challenge. The animation is as smooth as butter, the sprites are detailed and expressive, the controls make it simple to pull off some seriously awesome combos, and the character roster is huge. It is everything you could want in a fighting game, and more than warrants the purchase of an NGPC.AwesomeMonstar wrote:As I sit here, writing on the pooper (if this is TMI, sorry bout that) My NGPC sits behind me with MOTM rested soundly in it's back.GSZX1337 wrote:My NGPC came in the mail today. Also, GSZX1337, the NGPC is indeed more powerful than the GBC, but few developers pushed the graphical limits of the system. At the very least, the NGPC can do everything the GBC can do, but faster and more fluidly. If you have played a graphically-intensive GBC game, you know that slowdown can be an issue.

NGPC is great but I wish I was able to put a back-light on it. I use to collect the games back in the day and still have 'Cotton' in the clam-shell...Megaman Battle & Fighters...and bunch more. I have since then been trying to collect Wonderswan Color/Crystal games. Another great hand-held!

Re: I Love My Neo-Geo Pocket Color!
Saw an eBay auction a week ago I think. Kid put a front light into it. Looked kinda impressive.
