I don't think actual child porn is legal in Japan, but there is the "Junior Idols" thing which makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

As far as I know child porn is legal to possess or view in Japan but illegal to actually make. I could be wrong because I cannot recall where I read that.

Edit: I just googled and I am wrong. It is illegal to posses in Japan. Don't believe everything you read!
