LAN chat utility

Post by Pulsar_t »

I've been using Borg for a few years now but it seems Win7 doesn't like it very much, and it seems the author has given up on updating the program. Is there a solid alternative that offers reliable text chat and basic file transfer?

It's more than you need, but Trillian has a module called Bonjour that is just for communicating with people on your LAN. Both the older V3 and the newer Astra have it. I'm sure someone can suggest something smaller that's just LAN only though.

Thanks, but Trillian is a tad resource-intensive. I guess I have to check out sites like cnet and softpedia for alternative apps

Astra is a lot more compact than V3 was. But yeah, probably still overkill.
