Tron 2.0?

Post by bladerunner »

Anyone else dusting off their copy of Tron 2.0 in light of the up coming Tron Legacy film? I remember that this game did not get a lot of love when it came out, save from the small Tron fan base. I loved this game so much I have bought it three times, just to give two copies to friends, who ultimately never liked it. Oh well. I am feeling the need for some game grid multiplayer.

Actually yeah, I'm hauling it out in anticipation of the film. Just to clarify, you are talking about the PC version right? I actually tried out the GBA version of the game and it is amazing as well. Check it out if you haven't before, really great games, both of em. Pretty sure it's done by Vicarious Visions who also did the amazing Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 for the GBA's launch.

I tried the demo for it and it looked awesome but there was something about the gameplay I didn't care for. Oh well. But for those that did like it, great idea to play through before the movie.

Correct. I never actually tried the GBA version or Xbox port. I'll have to check them out.

I quite enjoyed this game on PC - interested in the GBA port tho - didn't know about that. Loved the disc combat, and I think I liked the light cycles, although I can't really remember how they worked tbh... The final boss was crap tho...

I bought this for PC soon after the new Tron movie was announced. I think it's a well done FPS game. I love the graphic style.

I only recently played the game (I found it for cheap about 2 years ago) and loved every minute of it. After completing it, I found the game grid, but with no one around to play and then the trailer was released with much salivation on my part! I loved the game for it's great RPG-esque stylings with upgradeable weapons and abilities and the whole tech loadout. Not to mention Bruce Boxleitner reprising his role as Allen. Such a great game, I will have to load it back up and play anyone if they are interested. Never got to do the on-line portion.

I tried the game a couple of years ago and thought graphically it was in the spirit of the film but for me was too flawed on the enjoyment level to keep my interest.
