Mega Rock Man Battle Chip Gate 4.5 EXE Peripheral

Post by CRTGAMER »

Apologies for not adding to this older post, saw nothing there:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 58#p253358

Okay what is this, a periphial to add levels?
Or is it just something in the game?

Squeezing the box feels like just a GBA cart inside. :?

Found this pic, maybe separate package?

This guy is a Megaman nut! The entire collection below.

According to the article, maybe that Red ROCKMAN EXE Cart at the bottom?

The Blues Edtion Battle Chip Gate. You got this if you bought the special edition of Rockman EXE 4.5

If you plugged the BCG (Battle Chip Gate) into a GBA with Battle Network 4 in it, you could play operation battles and act like the Net Navi Operater!
So again the question is (Sorry for shouting, have a chance to get one of these):

WHAT IS IN THE 1ST PIC ABOVE, A REGULAR CART OR ONE OF THE ROCKMAN ADDONS?
Note that the very top pic is the packaging, I think either a GBA cart or the Red ROCKMAN RED cart.

I can also get import GBA Robot Wars and some other battle cart, No not from noise, another source. :D

A second question, can Japan games work on U.S Game Boy Advance SP?

Another pic showing the different Rockman GBAs.
I now suspect the box I looked, mentioned earlier only has a GBA cart inside.

Pic below second row in the middle, hey this one is fatter, the Special Edition?

Where's Noise?

All of my favourite EXE bits - the Limited/Special Edition stuff:
The Rockman EXE 2 GBA LE with a special blue GBA (with small EXE logo's) and a copy of EXE 2

Rockman EXE 4 Red Sun and Blue Moon GBA SP's - A GBA SP with a copy of the game and some stickers.

Rockman EXE 4 Double Pack (Both EXE 4 games in 1 bigger box), Rockman EXE 4.5 Deluxe Edition (Comes with the game, a Battle Chip Gate and some Battle Chips)

Rockman EXE 5 Movie Edition - Comes with a new slip on cover, a small calendar and a special Forte Card. The game is actually just the normal Team Colonel Edition.

Rockman EXE 5 Team Colonel and Blues Guide Book versions - Both come in a Bigger Outer Box with the game, a Guide Book and an exclusive card.

Rockman EXE 6 DX Editions - Both come in a Bigger Outer Box with the game, a Battle Chip Gate and some Battle Chips.

I'm a huge fan of the MMBN series; I would love to have one of these things. Too bad that they probably only work with the Japanese version.

this shit is weird... looks like that red cart takes some sort of mini-SD-looking cards into it. Hmmm.

anyway, the Battle Chip Gate appears to only be part of the DELUXE EDITION of Rockman EXE 4.5, so the one you squeezed and felt like it only has a game in it, probably only has a game in it. See release notes from gfaqs:

RockMan EXE 4.5 Real Operation Capcom AGB-P-BR4J 08/06/04 JP

There was a P.E.T toy released in the US that took those battlechips, but it was for a minigame on the device itself, with no interaction to the GBA.

Okay, thanks thats what I surmise too. The smaller pack is very likely only the GBA cart, oh well. Looks like the little memory card allows transference of Rockman data to that other Japanese portable PET players as in Dreamcast memory modules.

Bookoff, a Japanese used book store, has the game in question for five bucks.
Unfortunately no extras I believe, just the new game in that sealed little box.
But the store always good for a revisit, never know.
