I'm trying to expand my collection in super hero themed video games, however, I have no idea of the best ones out there x.x
May they be either new or old (not older than PS1 or N64), which ones are the greatest? Thanks in advance.

Re: Super Hero Video Games
Super Man 64. (kidding)
The Spider-Man games for the PS1 are pretty good. I had a lot of fun with them when I was in my early teens.

I don't know how closely it follow the comic, but Shadow Man for the Dreamcast is pretty good.

Re: Super Hero Video Games
PS1 and N64 games were still figuring out how to do 3D best. Couple that with the fact that licensed games are usually crap, and I'm not sure what to recommend. This is a retro game forum and I could easily recommend Batman for NES or maybe even the death and return of superman for genesis.
Spiderman for N64, PS1, and Dreamcast is pretty much the same game, I guess I'd go with the DC version.
There's Batman Vengeance for gamecube, Arkham Asylum for 360 and PS3. Ultimate Spiderman for gamecube is good. Batman the Brave and the Bold for wii looks like it will be really good.

Spiderman Shattered Dimensions is coming up, which will either be really awesome or really bad. Never played them, but Marvel Ultimate Alliance games seem to always be popular. Also, Batman Arkham Asylum as other people mentioned before.

Infamous - It might not be what you're looking for in terms of an IP, but it is the best super hero game I've played.
I also like both last gen Hulk games and the current gen Wolverine game.

I liked Spiderman 2 for Gameboy Advance. After you get passed the first level, the game is actually a great game.

Re: Super Hero Video Games
Let's see, just super hero games in general?
X-Men Legends, X-Men Legends 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Viewtiful Joe is about a super hero. Batman:Arkham Asylum, X-Men Origins:Wolverine, all of Capcom's superhero based fighting games like X-Men vs Streetfighter, Marvel vs capcom, Marvel Super Heroes, etc. You can find all of those fighters on the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast. The Darkness is based on a comic book character. Spiderman has tons of good games. He seems to have the most success in the gaming world

Okay, you might not have heard of this one.
BLASTO - PS1
Has Saturday Nite Live comedian Phil Hartman as the voice of the hero. Duck Dodgers levels!

ASTRO BOY - PS2
Kinda cheesy, but a great explore game. I would like a pair of those jet boots!
Not sure if this applies, but an honorable mention?
APE ESCAPE 3 - PS2
When the Hero morph becomes available in the futuristic city. Levels towards the end but very cool.

Re: Super Hero Video Games
Ah, at my site I do a four part look at superhero video games and the comics they are based on called Print-N-Pixel.
Currently I am discussing The Infinity Saga, looking at Marve Super Heroes (Capcom Fighting Game) and the Infinity Gauntlet along with Capcom's SNES game War of the Gems in relation to the Infinity War.
I know you weren't too interested in the older games, but this is a retro site and FiftyDollarCurse already listed some games so let me add on to it along with one SOLID recommendation for the PS2.
Here are some Comic Book Based Video Games that I find good:
Arcade/MAME:
The Punisher
Captain America and the Avengers
Spider-Man
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
The Marvel Fighting Games
X-Men
Superman
Batman
Alien vs Predator
NES
Silver Surfer (hard, but real fun if you have a Game Genie)
Batman Returns
Batman Return of the Joker
The Punisher (Operation Wolf style game)
Captain America and the Avengers
Genesis:
Chakan The Forever Man
Superman (1992)
The Life and Death of Superman
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (this game is inferior to the SNES version, but a fun Gunstar Heroes type game)
Captain America and the Avengers
Sega CD:
Prime
Spider-Man
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Batman Returns
The Adventures of Batman and Robin (its a driving game that is not like the Genesis port at all)
SNES:
Spawn
The Life and Death of Superman
War of the Gems
Saturn:
Marvel Super Heroes
Scudd The Disposable Assassin
X-Men Children of the Atom
PS1:
Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker
Marvel Super Heroes
Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2
X-Men Children of the Atom
Hellboy: Asylum Seeker
Hellboy: The Science of Evil
N64:
Spider-Man
Shadowman
Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker
Dreamcast:
Spider-Man
Shadowman
Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2
PS2:
The Red Star - I highly recommend this game, especially since it's on a more current gen system.
Superman: Shadow of Apokolips
The Punisher
