Best way to release Tales of Vesperia PS3....

Post by JC48573 »

It will be a year since the release of Vesperia for Ps3 in Japan and I am thinking that it's becoming more unlikely for the game to get a state release. I really don't want to fork out money to buy a 360 just for a few games I'm interested. I actually thought to myself for a moment and something just clicked. Isn't the game only 8-9 gb in size? I'm pretty sure the ps3 version has lots of space left. Man, if Namco can fit two games (vesperia and graces) in one disc with the right tools, then it would sell well with the correct advertisement. Xseed can also create a collector's edition package for the game. Heck, might as well add the rest of the Tales games that didn't come out here in one darn disc.

You're forgetting that this is Bamco we're talking about, one of the laziest, most ass-backwards companies in the gaming industry. I wouldn't be surprised that if they did release Tales of Vesperia on the PS3 in the US, they would try to release it on a bunch of CDs!

Namco just posted the following on their Facebook wall:
We appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for the Tale's series. There are many elements required to successfully bring a game to market and the localization of the series is a huge effort, from text translation and audio recordings to testing of the game. While we currently don't have plans to bring the Tales games to the... US, we're looking at each of them and evaluating the possibility of bringing them to market.
This may be a bit of a worse message than before. In their previous FB message, they stated that they had no plans to localize Tales of Graces. Now they say they have no plans to localize any Tales games. However, a little bit of hope does come from this. Near they end of the post, they said "...We're looking at each of [the possibilities for localization]...", which may signify that they are starting to consider letting Atlus or XSEED localize the games. I don't know; that's just my impression of it.

I read the last statement as "Each Tales game we release in Japan we consider releasing in the US, but it's on a title by title basis."

:( such a shame. The Tales series is the only JRPG game I've played that actually has a battle system that is fun (only played Tales of Symphonia but I think most of the games have the same battle system, right?). Too bad their story always lacks in comparison to other JRPGs. Then again nothing could be as bad as Star Ocean

multiplatform can be really shi**y as we are only using less than half the capacity of the blue ray disc half the time.

Actually its more like less than 30%. Enough that you could put it on two regular dvds, and you could install one of them and only play off of one without the need to switch discs.
