My purchase depend both on if the controls are bearable for a lefty, and if they keep the pentagram level at the Quake 2 or 4 level instead of the one used for 3. Thats just me though.

Man, now I'm never going to put my DS down!
Between Quake (possibly my favorite PC gaming franchise) and Contra 4 (my fave series of shmups next to Gunstar) and Mario Kart (which I still play after 2 years), my DS's buttons are gonna fall off!

Mildly interesting, but it's my understanding that the biggest pull for Quake-heads is that the series is known to be the fastest paced, deadly accurate experience you can get, with an almost limitless amount of skill to gain. Quake games have some of the craziest trick and tournament videos you can find online. There's obviously no way this will translate to DS. When you take away this intensity in favor of a stylus, what you have left is a pretty generic online FPS game.

At least the most interesting thing is that Carmack is pretty fascinated with the DS hardware. He may come up with something to make it a respectible port.
As one of the best American game programmers out there, I'm sure he can figure someway to make it interesting.
