I moved our further discussion to the "Mosques" thread as it fit better with the ongoing discussion there.Chickensuit wrote:dsheinem wrote:Correction: These are lists of books suggested BY a pro-creationism website, so I am sure they will have objective perspectives.Chickensuit wrote:This is a list of some books on creation vs evolution.

Creation science is a god damn oxymoron.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions guys! This thread has been more successful than I thought it would be. As far as psychology goes, I'm interested in things more related to human behavior and bias.
Keep 'em coming guys! You've been very helpful so far.

Origin of Species certainly does, although it would be considered outdated by a century and a half. The God Delusion and A Brief History of Time do as well, although neither is something that would appear in any research paper or scientific journal!AppleQueso wrote:...two of those have nothing to do with evolution and the one that does is outdated by modern standards.Breetai wrote:Evolution:
The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins for evolution
Origin of Species has already been mentioned
A Breif History of Time by Stephen Hawking for evolution
It all depends on exactly what the OP was looking for.
As for dsheinem, while it's true he came off as a biased prick (hey man, that IS how it looked!), I will also give a word of caution with "Dr. Dino." Even most of the fundamentalist Christian pro-creationist institutions stay away from him. There's a reason for that. He has used a lot of outdated arguments that have been shown fraudulent and sticks to them despite other creationists pointing out their flaws. He's an interesting guy to listen to, nonetheless.
As opposed to mental disorders?I'm interested in things more related to human behavior and bias.

I recently re-read The God Delusion and I wouldn't pick it up for the purpose of understanding anything evolution. It's more a very light summary of evolution that is meant to underscore his argument that god (probably) doesn't exist.
Here is a more recent book by Dawkins.
