The dual tankstick has pretty crappy stock parts. Not that you can't replace them easily...

I didn't find replacing them all that hard...AppleQueso wrote:The dual tankstick has pretty crappy stock parts. Not that you can't replace them easily...
Regardless, it's all about comfort. I know the X-Arcade gets a lot of hate, but I've used a lot of sticks out there - and out of all of them, the X-Arcade is head and shoulders above the rest for me.
I mean, personally, I'd choose an Xbox 360 controller before I choose a ball-top joystick. In fact, I have. I was a beast at the AWA King of Fighters XII set-up a while back (undefeated, in fact), and I was using the Xbox 360's d-pad the whole time.

Oh, no that's what I was saying, that they're easy to replace.the7k wrote:I didn't find replacing them all that hard...AppleQueso wrote:The dual tankstick has pretty crappy stock parts. Not that you can't replace them easily...

The DC controller has some small negatives for fighting games, but I always found it to be fine.

The triggers are sadly, horrible, they tend to break with use and there aren't any fixes that I know of, or no simple feasible solution like glue comes to mind when looking at the problem.MrPopo wrote:The d-pad on the Dreamcast is pretty bad and the triggers aren't too good for fighting games (too much pull).
I've patrolled the web quite a bit in search of "shoulder buttom dreamcast replacement" and the like to no avail

I rock the first party arcade stick.
it's a little janky, but it's ok for my uses. The contacts have all kind of worn down and the stick itself tends to pull and falter, especially on those guile-esque back forward moves, but I've still been able to pull everything off a whole lot easier than with the regular controller. I'd pick it up if it's cheap.

Having not played too many 2D fighters on the DC, I couldn't say. 3D fighters the standard controller feels just fine to me, but I spent all of high school playing Soul Calibur with only it.

What was the deal with this controller? "The Quantum Fighter pad," anyone ever tried one?

I'm sure they don't compare to the ascii pads or an arcade stick, just wondering if they made any difference in fighting games, I remember almost buying one back in the day.
