The situation could be far worse. If it makes you feel any better, my father burned my collection of N64 boxes back in 2003 assuming they were just junk. Unfortunately, I was stationed in Germany at the time. I'm still slowly picking up the pieces.

With or without the cases, it costs just the same to ship to Japan from USA if you use EMS flat rate.
