I always go by the school of thought that the game, manual, and box/case are each with about 33.33% of the complete value.

If you think like that, then the manual would be worth the same as the game and the box would be worth the same as the manual. No, that's incorrect.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:I always go by the school of thought that the game, manual, and box/case are each with about 33.33% of the complete value.

Understandable in most cases, but see: Chrono Trigger. The manual alone sells for 30 bucks - about 20 shy of the game. The box and maps are easily 25-30 a piece as well... I'm just saying in a lot of scenarios, depending on a games rarity and popularity, the values are pretty close to even.slowslow325 wrote:If you think like that, then the manual would be worth the same as the game and the box would be worth the same as the manual. Re: How much more is a game worth if the manual included?
The manual is worth as much as the buyer values the manual. For example, I refuse to buy any PS2/GC/Xbox/DC/PS1 game without a manual, even if the price is significantly undercut because of the lack of a manual. For cart-only games, manuals are just gravy for me. I prefer to get a Genesis game CIB, but usually I don't want to pay the premium for it. It's no big shake if I don't have it, because I can find it online most likely. It all depends on the system, the game, and the buyer.
