spacebar types bn2. when pressed - help

I really need help with a problem I'm having with my laptop. I've scanned my system with antivirus software and got rid of viruses that were on my system but its really playing up. None of my keyboard works and when I press the spacebar it types the text bn2.
Anybody have any ideas? I'm getting pretty stressed

Boot it to a live CD. If the keyboard works, then reinstall your OS. If the keyboard doesn't work, replace the keyboard.

Probably not a virus, more likely the keyboard has gotten damaged (liquid spilled it it, impact damage, ribbon cable partially disconnected, etc) or your language settings in the OS were modified. Try plugging in a USB keyboard to verify if it's the language settings or not. If the USB one works OK, then replacing the keyboard is not too difficult (usually just pop the bezel on top off, and remove 2-3 screws under the bezel holding the keyboard in place). Replacement keyboards are often cheap when bought off ebay from laptops damaged in other ways.

Removed the keyboard and that seems to have so far stopped the problems. virus on the system was hopefully a coincidence. Bought another keyboard of ebay so hope that'll work. Thanks for help guys.
