EZ-Flash GBA help please?
Okay, I have an EZ Flash IV cart. I have SNESAdvance emulor. And a SNES ROM. However, whatever I try, I just get a white screen when I try to launch the ROM on my GBA. Please somebody walk me through the process of patching the ROM or whatever needs to be done and getting it onto the EZ Flash cart. Feel free to be super KISS. Thanks!

Well, emulation on the GBA is quite a bit different than on... well, everything else, really. With GBA emulators, you can't just access the roms from a directory on the SD card. You actually need to compile a new GBA rom that includes both the emulator, and the roms. Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds. There's a program that does it for you. Here's a link, [if you're using SNES Advance, that is]: http://gbaemu.dcemu.co.uk/snesadvance.shtml Download "SNES Advance v0.1", and it should contain the emulator, and an .exe file. From there, just select SNES roms to add to the list, and it will make a new GBA rom that includes the emulator and SNES roms. Just be careful not to make the file bigger than 32 MB; that's the biggest a GBA file can get.
When you select the file on your flashcard, you will probably get an error saying "PSRAM is not enough". This means you have to load the rom a different way. To do this, you have to write it to the NOR flash of the Flashcart. To do this, just highlight the emulator in the EZFlash menu, and press the Select button. It will ask you if you want to write to NOR Flash, so push the A button. It will take a while, maybe a few minutes, depending how many SNES roms you selected, as it has to delete some junk data [don't worry, it's nothing important], and then write the rom to flash. Afterwards, it should show up in the first menu of the SD card, under the "EZ-Flash" folder that all your other GBA roms are in. Just select it, and enjoy some SNES games!

Re: EZ-Flash GBA help please?
lisalover, thank you -- I had actually figured out the first part about compiling the new ROM. (Yes, GBA homebrew is quite different from any other I"ve encountered).
However, once loaded on the EZ Flash I don't get the error message -- which I've seen with games like Mother 3. But instead, it just goes to a white screen and nothing seems to happen. Any idea?

Maybe try one of the derivative versions of SNES Advance. They might work. Or, try writing the ROM to flash anyway, even though there is no error message. Another possibility is just that the SNES rom is corrupt, and/or something went wrong in the compiling process.noiseredux wrote:lisalover, thank you -- I had actually figured out the first part about compiling the new ROM. Earthbound snes or super metroid won't work great. just play it on your tv on pc. Mother 3 does work fine on ds. Don't expect some rpg to work on ds. Nes works good.
