The problem with the Megadrive is it runs slow (the bordered graphics are bad but not as bad as running slow) 17% is a massive speed difference, I replayed Sonic 1 and 2 and both of them were so much harder, its like playing in slow mo.

Megadrive = slow motion Genesis = shit.

Nothing, the problems are with the Megadrive.

Japanese and Brazilian consoles are also called Mega Drive and run at 60 hz.

You guys could just ask one of us US members to get you guys a Genesis system and mail it over.

Since you won't need an AC Adaptor or AV/SCART cables as you could just use your existing ones no problem, so shipping simply the bare console would be easy & cheap as they're light and relatively small.

All you would really have to do to play all your existing Mega Drive games on it would be to remove the top shell of the Genesis and switch with the top shell of your Mega Drive or a spare unit so the carts will slide in no prob.

(This is easiest with model 2's as there's no tethered LED to deal with)
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

I have done this, thanks to jfe2. I have a mosses md however as I don't have rgb on my tv I can't get a color image. Also md and gen carts are the same mold, it is only the Jpn carts that are a differant shape.

Oh, I see. I thought you meant:
Megadrive = slow motion
Genesis = shit.
But I see you really meant:
Megadrive = slow motion Genesis
slow motion Genesis = shit.

Hey I like my Mega Drive :( It might seem slow to you fancy pants Americans, but this is what we had to make do with in those days.

Actually, I'll be honest. I can barely notice a difference between 50 Hz and 60 Hz and don't think it's the big deal everyone makes it out to be. Sue me :P

This thing is not limited to Australian K-Mart

Might be worth buying just for the controllers.

It is not on more recent consoles because of frame skipping, however on older console, companies were lazy and just slowed the consoles down. It is a massive difference, jump on youtube and search for sega 50/60hz switch or something similar.
