Its true, you need the second player to get the good ending. Doesnt change the experience, it is still worth playing through fairly often. The sequel on the NES however is pants. Damn helicopter boss.

Epic sleepovers with a multi-tap and Super Bomberman. After that, Quake II for PS was our multiplayer game of choice, then Perfect Dark.

I don't remember much of what I played alone as a kid during summer, but I assume it was all the RPGs I grew up on - Final Fantasy, Super Mario RPG, Earthbound, Final Fantasy Tactics, etc - or watching my brother play such games.

Also, I just want to acknowledge how awesome it is that your kids would rather play NES than Wii. I guess it's not just our personal nostalgia talking when we say we'd rather play retro games.

Street Fighter alpha 2 for the Saturn and some Twisted metal 2 for PS!!... When I was even younger, I would play True Lies for the Genesis... Probably one of the few good early video games based on film to ever be released!!!

Funny thing is when X-Men vs Street Fighter was released, I used to rake at the arcades because it played so similarly to Street Fighter Alpha 2 in terms of controls.. I was like 12 back then and people thought I was a beast!

Ikari Warriors for Famicom. God, that game is horribly bad...but as a child...it was badass. Also, Keystone Kapers for 2600. Yeah, I'm old! I mostly played Master System games like Spy VS Spy, California Games, Action Fighter, Alex Kidd, etc etc.
