What Compilations Do You Want To See?

Post by BurningDoom »

Thankfully, there have been some great compilations in the last few years. A lot of my favorites have already come out like the Sega Collections, Sonic Collections, Mega Man & Mega Man X collections, SNK collection, Metal Slug Collection, Capcom Collections, etc.

As for ones that haven't come out that I'd like to see, I have a few:

-Castlevania Collection - Include all 3 original NES titles, Super Castlevania IV, Castlevania: Dracula X, Castlevania: Bloodlines, and Castlevania: Symphony of hte Night. It would be soooo awesome. And since they're all 2D games, I don't think it would be hard to fit them all.

-Contra Collection - Include Contra (NES), Super C, Contra III: The Alien Wars, Contra: Hard Corps, and Contra: Legacy of War on this collection, as well as the original arcade version of Contra. Run-N-Gun heaven.

-Forgotten Realms Collection - The best series of dungeon-crawling games. Based on the Dungeons & Dragons universe. They could release em as seperate games but all together, like the Diablo Battlechest or WarCraft Battlechest. They could include Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 & 2, and Neverwinter Nights.

-The Legend of Zelda Collection - Include NES, SNES, N64, Gameboy, GBC, & GBA entries on this sucker. I'd buy it. The Zelda' Collector's Disc for Gamecube was cool, but only had the NES and N64 games.

-Marvel Comics Collection - I'm not sure if this could actually happen due to licensing and rights and such. But if could be done, it would be freaking awesome. Include a few beat-em ups like X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, Maximum Carnage, and Captain America and The Avengers alongside some fighting games like Marvel vs. Capcom, Marvel Super-Heroes, and X-Men: Children of the Atom. I would be all over that.

-Mega Man Legends Collection - Capcom has already released a Mega Man Collection, a Mega Man X Collection, and even a Mega Man Zero Collection. But they haven't released a Mega Man Legends collection. They could include Mega Man Legends 1 & 2 and The Misadventures of Tron-Bonne, and even a couple of unlockable classic Mega Man games.

-Metroid Collection - Include all the great 2D entries: Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid II: The Return of Samus, Metroid: Fusion, and Metroid: Zero Mission in this collection and Nintendo would have a runaway hit.

-Ninja Gaiden Collection - Include all 3 NES games, the original arcade game, and the Gameboy game on this and you would make me one happy NES fan.

-Resident Evil Trilogy - A game that collects the first 3 games, the best in the series.

What compilations do you want to see?

I agree, think a Zelda collection would be awesome. I think it really sucks that the Gamecube collection doesn't feature A Link to the Past (and a Link's Awakening would have been nice too). It feels like it's really missing something, just having the two NES games and two N64 games. I mean, I get why they did it (apart from it just being a free promotional thing anyways), with them recently re-releasing A Link to the Past for the GBA at that time.

Also got to agree with the Contra collection!

As for my suggestion:

Shining Force Collection - All the Shning Force games, including scenario 1, 2 and 3 of SFIII all translated (a guy can dream right? :P) and a load of the cool spin off games like Shining The Holy Arc etc.
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

Nintendo compilations are always so half-assed, lol.

Anyways one I've wanted for a long time...

Technosoft Collection - Would be one of the best shmup compilations ever.

Here would be an interesting one...

Classic Blizzard / Interplay Collection - Would include stuff like Earthworm Jim 1-2, Boogerman, The Lost Vikings, Blackthorne, Clayfighter games, and so on. Great stuff.

Compilations seem like a waste of money to me, as I tend to own all of the games I like.

It would be incredible if Capcom released compilations for their CP System arcade games though. A CPS-II compilation would be so great. So many great games that never saw the light of day outside arcades. CPS and CPS-III compilations would be nice too. A CPS-III one is even feasible, it would just have the SFIII games, the JoJo games, and Red Earth.

There is a Ninja Gaiden collection/remake for the SNES by the way, although it only collects the first three NES games. A release collecting all 3 NES games, the SNES remakes, the PCE game, and the SMS game would be interesting though.

Mega Man Legends is so good you mentioned it twice! :P

Anyhoo, I would like to see a Cave compilation containing all the older Cave releases.

Speaking of Mega Man Legends, I forgot to mention that there's a collection for those games already, too.
