Top 10 8-bit and 16-bit Console Adventure Games

Post by timewarpgamer »

Yes, glad to see that there's an other genres forum category now. Good call!

Adventure games weren't exactly huge in the 8/16-bit console world. They were far more prevalent on computers. But if we can ignore the computer realm for a moment and focus on the consoles, there are actually a fair number of top-notch adventures (many of them computer ports, surprise, surprise). Here's my adventure game top 10:

How's it look? Think I missed some good ones? Maybe there's something listed that sucks? These Top 10s are never quite final, so I welcome any feedback.

There was a scooby doo adventure game on the genesis/mega drive that was pretty good.

Nice signature. I feel like I've heard it before...

It was most familiar from a Paul Oakenfold mix, yet I had heard it long before in a little film called Blade Runner. Good stuff. If I add Deja Vu, then what about Univited? Three MacVenture games for the NES. Do they all deserve to make the cut?

I saw someone talking about that on a youtube video and he said it was awesome. There's an SNES one too but it's a completely different game
