I can't get it to work.

My Cube is near my PC, which has an ethernet card, and a wireless card that I installed. The PC uses wireless, as my router is nowhere NEAR my PC. I've tried getting xLink Kai hooked up, as well as the rogue PSO server to work. Neither one has worked out for me yet.

This may sound like a stupid question, but you aren't plugging your Gamecube into your computer via Ethernet, are you? You have to plug the Gamecube into the router.

Yeah, to connect it straight to your PC's Ethernet port you'll need what's called a crossover cable. Basically it's an Ethernet cable that has two wires crossed around inside of it so you don't feed each end a 5v signal that it doesn't need and accidentally burn out the Ethernet card or your Gamecube's BBA.

You could just use an old router or an Ethernet switch to bypass, or grab a crossover cable for like a buck online.

I was under the impression you could do that. I have no idea. Sigh.

Basically just follow my instructions as listed above.

All you need is a $2 crossover Ethernet cable and you'll be all set.

Here is a quick and dirty KISS guide on how to get your consoles online if you're using a wireless setup such as Noise & I are and like I'm assuming a lot of you also have as well.

Please note that this will also allow you get any wired only device you may own online for full internet access as well, so older wi-fi-less or incompatible computers, consoles and those of you who want to get your 20GB PS3's and Original Model 360's online can also do so with this guide.

That's a great solution if your game consoles are close to your computer, and far from your router. As for me, my consoles are far from my router and my computer, which is near my router. What I did is I bought a 100-ft Ethernet cable [they're 2 floors down] and connected one end of the cable to the router, and another to a multi-port network switch. That way, I can have everything connected directly into my router, even though the consoles are far away.

Mod_Man, this is a GREAT explanation. Thank you! Two questions:

1. How do I "make sure my LAN/Ethernet controller is enabled?"
2. How/where do I find a crossover cable (does Staples or Radioshack etc carry them)? Does it look different than an ethernet cable?

Unless you want the cable immediately, I wouldn't recommend buying it at Radio Shack, Staples, etc. You can find them online at places like Amazon or Overstock for $1 or less, as opposed to around $30-$50 at physical stores.

EDIT: Here's one for around $2: http://www.amazon.com/Offspring-Technol ... B0006B05PI
