Sonic wasn't a timeless classic released on one system and nearly untouched for 11 years, and giving american gamers reason to own a Saturn.
What's your point? Why do you want people to own one piece of metal and plastic instead of another? The hardware doesn't matter. The game matters.

Hey, to each his own. I just don't see the point of spending lots of time and money on something which could be done very simply.

And in response to the "OMG SONY EVIL". It's a damn video game console. It didn't murder your first born child or torch your family's village. It comes from a company who did better in the marketplace than some other one and therefor its more popular. I really don't see the problem. Sega aren't your mentors and haven't betrayed you. They're making a business deal, like a COMPANY, which is meant to make MONEY, does.

Now grow up and look out the window. That's the real world: a place where businesses make products to make money, and where the most popular products make the most money. The inanimate objects these businesses make don't kill each other, and haven't done anything 'wrong' to other ones. See it for the combination of plastic, metal and silicon it is and enjoy, or be a stupid fanboy living in a dark basement bitching about how the 125 million people who bought a PS2 are all the misguided sons of Beelzebub.

You guys crack me up with this sacrelig stuff. These companies exist for one reason and one reason only, and it sure as hell isn't to give you lots of warm fuzzies when you play their games.

They exist only to make money. That is all. Sure, the developers want to make great games, and I will grant you that making better games = better sales = more money. But as for old games being ported to newer platforms, there's no reason for a game not to appear on a particular platform unless you're talking about first party IP.

Moz is absolutely right -- it's about the game, not the hardware or the format. If we really want games to be a more respected medium, we have to look at the content and not the company logos on the boxes or the hardware.

I complained and I consider that just as much of a sacrilege. SEGA doesn't even make much money anyways with all the failures they've been popping out. Oh and opethfan. Sony isn't a gaming company and that's why they just want to make money which is what I'm getting at. Sega and Nintendo had their starts with toys and games and started making money in their videogames just thinking hey kids will probably like this aswell(is their any doubt that shigeru is a legitimately good guy?) , Sony started as a huge corporation who realised videogames were popular and they could make consoles and get alot of money. Sony just doesn't have the soul that the others have. Look at the sega and nintendo first party titles, they were all fun original and pretty unoffensive, I know sony doesn't make games but I sort of relate certain games with sony like twisted metal and other such garbage which isn't anything new but it lets you blow things up and kill people so it sells well in the west. I know the playstation has had some brilliant games but the ones that sell are the violent ones and shitty recycled sports garbage. By bringing videogames to the mainstream develpers realise they don't need to waste time and effort making decent games since garbage sells anyway so we more true gamers get less brilliant games and more shovelware. Have you notice games before the playstation were generally better? I don't think that's just us.

Yes. Because 4.7 BILLION dollars revenue is 'not even much money'

It's called business. They're Japan's biggest 3rd party game publisher. They seem to be knowing how to make money now. Nights on the PS2 could very well be a good game. I get to use component video, OK-ish PS2 controller, its already under my TV, etc etc. Oh, and Saturn systems are like $80 over here.

As much as I prefered gamecube's analog over PS2's, PS2's analog beats the tar out of Saturn's, so I consider that an upgrade as well. I'm really excited about this. Also, the A-Life data on the saturn consumed too much memory so I often deleted it. In doing so, I've never explored the A-Life system very far. Now I will be able to.

I really don't understand this 'betrayal' crap. Are all the Sega Ages betrayals to the past to the nutty fanboys of the world? (Aside from the bad ports like the GBA Sonic)
As far as I can tell they pay homagé to Sega's great past and give us all, as well as others, a new way to play or get these games, isn't that a great thing? NiGHTS isn't even rare or anything, and even if it was what concern is that of Sega. If it was rare it's a good thing they're giving it to us at an easier accessable way.
If Treasure bring RS to XBLA is that Treasure's betrayal? What about Guardian Heroes? Or Gunstar Heroes on VC?
So what if it's a Sony system? That's water under the bridge and nearly 10 years ago. Sega put themselves out of the console market not Sony.
It's not betrayal it's just elitist gamers being selfish and butthurt by ancient history (In gaming history terms anyway)

Whatever your view, I think we all have to accept the fact that this is not the same Sega we grew up with.
Most of the key players of the good 'ol days have moved on.
