What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched Twilight and New Moon back to back today, and can honestly say that there were only two reasons for me to despise the film: the script(and its source material) and the leads. The supporting cast displayed considerably more emotion and skill in their delivery than the leads, especially Bella, but that doesn't mean much. A plank of wood has better range than that lady. And to the guy playing Edward...well, knowing the back story of how he got the part and what he thinks of the role, I really can't blame him for doing it poorly.
But then again, any positive image I might have gotten from the film could have been from the Riff Trax that were running while I watched it. Man, I love MST3K.

Dirty Harry - 6/10
Heard this was a classic from Clint Eastwood, and although it's got some good chases sequences, it didn't really draw me into the story much. After having seen Gran Torino and a bunch of other Clint movies where he is playing pretty much the same role, this just didn't feel as good a movie as the others, although it is pretty dated now so may have lost some of its effect. A decent film though.
Casablanca - 9/10
Had never seen this either, and had it on DVD for a while. Was quite impressed it lived up to all the hype it seems to have acquired, great story and the acting was top notch. I find some old films the acting can be cheesy but not here. It gets quite soppy at times but the ending is perfect, the time also flew by whilst watching it. Recommend it definitely!

I saw the karate kid. I was good. It was exactly what I expected, but to see it through my boys eyes it was all good.

COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG
Finally on NTSC!
First season just came out in the states Region 1. A lucky find of one copy left at Frys.
Sheesh took long enough to come out, 3 years after region 4 on DVD.
Has been in Cartoon Network syndication since late 2002.
Season one 2 DVD set

The Bad
1. No extras just the 13 first season episodes.
2. DVD case has the stupid recycle holes throughout, a norm I guess now on new releases.
3. No inner liner notes to cover the recycle holes.
The Good
1. Its Courage the Cowardly Dog finally released in the states in NTSC!
2. Great animation, weird nightmares concept in every episode.
3. Eustace yelling "Stupid Dog" thru out the DVD.
4. Sample pic below if you want to cover that recycle crap.

Ghost Writer. I am severely disappointed with this movie. Everything about it is solid except for the Evil-Types-Always-Win kind of story and the uninspired ending.
