Nintendo ~ For metrosexual echo boomers

Post by Mozgus »

So I jumped in a forum thread over at VGNR, a podcast I've listened to for years now. I'm kind of shocked to find out the host has some mega-beef with all things Nintendo. I mean, they've never missed a beat pointing out all of Nintendo's mistakes in the past, and have even been pretending desperately that the Wii has failed, but he's crossed a new line with some of this recent comments.

Just look at his posts, "Admin", and mine, "Mozgus", if you don't have the time.

http://www.videogamenews.com/Home/VGNFo ... fault.aspx

I really have a way with people, but I rarely infuriate someone with so little effort like this one.

The overview:

MediSpective is a fortweekly radio show covering Video Game News, Music, Movies, and Television. Hosted by two brothers, Brian and Kevin Baird, as well as friend LarryMac and rotating guests. The show has been on the air since July of 2004. And has a dedicated following of listeners who hang out at the official website www.VGNRadio.com

The show is meant as a regular man's guide to electronic media. Where games are reviewed in relation to their worth versus how many bottles of beer one would give up to acquire the game. Where movies that don't include Zombies or Kung-Fu are considered boring. And where a good song is about intensity and nothing to do with musical theory.

Just three regular guys, not trying to be anything other than what they are, talking about stuff that doesn't matter but everyone else is telling you it does. If you're a broke, bored, or family crushed individual, then VGN is your show. Give it a listen, you'll be able to find new episodes in the blog section (Soon) as well as on the official website VGNRadio.com You can also subscribe in iTunes. Just do a search for MediSpective and take it with you to work on your iPOD, or just listen on your PC at home. And if you have any advice, rants, or tips, just send them to us at [email protected]

Sometimes when I read something retarded online that pisses me off, I fire off a fuck-you response, then wonder why I dragged myself into it at all. Hate the internet sometimes.

Nah, no regrets here. I just dont want to bother copy/pasting it all. I didn't realize he had his forum all locked up like that.

Wow... I mean wow. I read a shit load of it and am now wondering why I just invested all that time in it. I started reading and for some reason could not bring myself to stop. I laughed my arse of when you were telling them how to mess with Gamefaqs

I really do like the guy after listening to the show for so long. I always put up with the Nintendo bashing, but when he bashes ANYONE who enjoys a Nintendo game, that's when the line has been crossed. The show is often funny as hell, but I cant imagine anyone using it for valid information and useful opinions. He just reads press releases and sighs about it, and then the goofing off ensues.

Yeah, I've actually killed two gamefaqs accounts. It's funny to think that if I kept the first all this time, I would be in one of the top 100 karma users. But the whole point of causing a little shitstorm to get banned was to prove that karma, and post counts, are not an accurate measure of one's worth. I got so tired of newbies being ignored, and aged members getting brown nosed, that I decided to make a point out of it. Any newbie can come along and make a statement of equality, but you don't often see a forum "sage" appear to go batshit crazy and spam erotica.

Most people don't understand why I kill off so many of my forum accounts, just for entertainment. I can't give a good answer, but I can give a good question; Will I do the same thing here? 8)

I guess the question should be ,Do you feel that you need to make a point about anything here on Racketboy? I mean newer members are treated well right off the bat and people try not be wankers for the sake of it so I don't really see anyone needing to do anything like that. I understand what you are talking about because it's the same sort of shit that bugs me, and stops me from bothering with other forums.

I also see what your saying about that guy and insecureity. I know alot of people who won't play any Mario game other than the nes ones for fear of looking childish . I guess they think that it's ok to play the nes installments because they feel that gives them some kind of old school cred...Fuck Knuckles.
