Is Continuum Shift 40 or 50 bucks?

Post by Veno »

I ask because on Gamestop's site, they have it listed as 39.99. I went to Gamestop the other day to buy Valkyria Chronicles, and i was asking them about Blazblue. The guy at the front told me if I reserve it, i get it for 40 bucks, but if I don't, I'll have to pay 50 bucks when it releases. I check their site and it's still listed for 39.99 , so did he just rip me off 5 bucks? I really didn't want to reserve it because it didn't come with any bonuses.

Well, he didn't really rip you off for 5 bucks - you can always cancel and get yer money back. Just make sure you cancel on him so he gets punished for it.

I'm not sure if it is cheaper when you pre-order - I haven't heard anything about it, but it wouldn't be the first time. Last time I remember this sort of thing happening was the most recent DBZ game on PS3/360 was $10 cheaper when you pre-ordered.

Hmm...yeah, I know this isn't the first time, and I actually like this kind of deal. It's just that, the game came out today, I'm going to pick it up later today, and when I check the site, they listed pre-owned as 34.99, while new is still 39.99. So my guess is, the price never rose up, and i can't cancel because the game's already out today. I'm gonna try and see if I can get my money back if it really didn't rise up. I know its just 5 bucks, but 5 bucks towards my next game is a big help, since i'm a pretty broke guy.

If this is GameStop, you can cancel anytime. Doesn't matter if the game isn't out yet, is out today, or has been out for 2 years. You can get your money back anytime.

I still have money on games that came out months ago, honestly.

You serious!? Holy crap! So, what if I walk in and ask them about the game? If it turns out there's no low price special, I can cancel, then buy it?

Well, if you are going to buy it anyway, you may as well keep the money on there... unless you want to punish whoever is checking you out at the time.

Thanks for the advice, but there was actually no need. What the guy didn't tell me was the reservation went towards my purchase. I reserved Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia, and still paid the full price after the pre-order. With Blazblue, since it's a less mainstream title, I only had to pay 38.84 because my reservation went towards the actual price. It would've saved this thread trouble if the first guy just told me that from the start. Thanks everyone.

Reservations should ALWAYS go towards the original price. That's how it's always worked at GameStop for as long as I've known.
