What's Zelda, a grass cutting rupee finding simulator?
What's Guitar rock band hero, a color matching sumulator?
What's Tetris, a warehouse packing simulator? What's Bayonetta, a blue ball simulator?
What's Final Fantasy, an accountact simulator disguised as a movie?
What's Pokemon, a hoarding simulator? What's Halo, a teabag simulator?
I mean you could go on and on.
Nice one Hobie-wan, that cracked me up LOL.
But yeah, I'm not gonna argue about this anymore(see my previous post). And I replied to another post earlier in this thread that my choice of the word mainstream may have been in error. What I was really trying to get at with this whole topic is that I don't think gaming gets the same amount of repsect as other entertainment mediums, but I guess that's not the same thing as saying that gaming isn't mainstream at all

Team Fortress 2 is the best war-themed hat simulator ever released.

It's just one person's perspective after all. From my perspective, it still seems like gaming isn't being taken seriously as an entertainment medium yet, but clearly some of you see things differently
I'll just agree to disagree and move onto some more fun threads we've got going
When you mentioned that gaming doesn't get the respect that other mediums get, people agreed with you. When you simply said "gaming isn't mainstream", people saw things differently.
You even said that the former is closer to what you meant to say, so maybe you should stick to that phrase?
Does it really matter whether gaming is mainstream or not? If you as an individual enjoy gaming that is all that should matter, the validation of your interest by others and "mainstream" culture shouldn't even register as a concern.
