Finally! The debut issue of The VGA is off to the Printers!

Post by onemanfilmcrew »

Well, it took me a while, but I finally got the first issue of The VGA sent off to the printers. Which means if all goes as planned the September issue should be up for sale in about 10 days, which means I can give the forum here at Racketboy a sneak preview of my new bi-monthly classic video game book.

Basically it's an 8x10 full color book. 70 pages with no ads, no filler, and nothing but classic games. It is going to be $15, which you can get on my site www.TheVgaTV.com or via Amazon. Of course if you go through Amazon you can get free Super Saver Shipping if you spend $25 (which as fate would have it, my book The Sega Master System Game Guide is a mere $10 via Amazon :D

Here is the list of games covered in issue #1

Tron Deadly Discs (2600)
Gauntlet (2600)
Dragonfire (2600)
The Earth Dies Screaming (2600)
Wall Street Kid (NES)
Metal Storm (NES)
Cyborg Hunter (SMS)
The Ninja (SMS)
Michael Jacksons Moonwalker (SMS/Genesis)
Buck Rogers (Genesis)
DJ Boy (Genesis)
Red Zone (Genesis)
Super Double Dragon (SNES)
Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES)
The Firemen (SNES)
Bloody Wolf (TG-16)
Legendary Axe (TG-16)
Canon Fodder (multi)
Die Hard (TG_16 Japanese)
Go Go Ackman (SNES, Japanese)
Detonator Organ (SCD, Japanese)
Tao (NES, Japanese)

I'll be sure to let everyone on here know when it's up for sale!

I will definately check this out and most likely do a review of it on www.gamerlogic.net. Plus you happen to be a fellow IL resident so you get even more support from me. :)

Sounds great, but when you say classic games what sort of era(s) are you refering to? I see you reviewed some snes and atari 2600 games, so i suppose my question is, How modern a game would you still call classic? Genesis, Playstation 1, N64, Dreamcast ect

Basically it is going to be everything that was released before the release of the N64/Saturn. I figure that since there were roughly 2,500 games released between the NES/SNES/Genesis/SMS/SCD/TG-16, I figure that I have enough material to focus on. There will also be some coverage of the Atari 2600 era.
