Anyone here with an 1080p or 720p LCD TV with either PS2, Xbox or Sega Dreamcast (VGA box) hooked up? How is the quality when being upscaled to the LCD's millions of pixels? Im trying to decide between an 42" 720p or 1080p LCD and I own the 3 systems mentioned and am curious to how they look.
I have been considering going with the 720p TV simply cause older game consoles probably wont look so badly at that resolution plus newer ones such as PS3 or X360 will still look great. Also 1080p isnt very noticeable with an 42" LCD TV.

That's what I thought Moz.
So since CRT's are going away (especially in Japan - I haven't seen one here in stores in over a year), what are we to do about the NES or anything that's only 480i composite on HDTVs?
I still run those three consoles on my 720p LCD ( the xbox and ps2 via Component video and the dc via VGA) and they look fine. The dc looks especially good, albeit with some aspect ratio issues.
And Mozgus, he did say last gen. PS2, Xbox and most certainly DC qualify as last gen.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

The only thing we can do is grin and bare it...or emulate to clean it up a little.

Or you can get a SlimFit CRT HDTV like me.
They don't get over 32 inches, but they are an afforable solution to hold you over until better technology gets cheaper...

I've been meaning to ask. What places still sell them? I can actually afford this now. I want to finally get one fairly big (32'' is gigantic to me) display for all my stuff, including PC.
