Another Gaming Blog?

So I'm thinking of jumping on this gaming blog train that seems to be passing through RacketBoy. Problem is I'm not quite sure what I want to do it on. The fact that SNES will be a focal point is a given - I can't imagine writing about games and neglecting my most treasured console. However, I don't know If I want to make a pure SNES blog (to line up nicely with the other console-specific blogs we have here), or if I want to cover a wider range, so, I'm throwing it up to you guys, who'll likely compromise a large percentage of my readers after all. I'm content with writing on any subject, so tell me what you guys want to read about (or if you don't want to read anything from me), and be honest!

I'm in the middle of a move and a marriage in the family, so I won't be able to actually start the blog for a couple weeks. Until then, I'll mull over some potential topics and watch this thread for ideas. Thanks a lot guys!

(P.S. I'm also struggling to come up with a name, so if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears .)

I am guessing your user name is a reference to Metallica and Pantera. Do a blog on them! Add some Rebel Meets Rebel for good measure.

It's always nice to do something different, even if it's an odd dinosaur themed blog lol.

It's not that hard to find any blog covering specific consoles like the ones you have in the choices you presented, but it's nice when there is something different about it. For example, one thing that is always interesting about rvgfanatic's site is the large amount of pictures he includes in his reviews. HG101 articles are interesting for always covering all ports of a game in detail and often throwing some notes about regional differences too. Not something you see on most other sites or blogs.

I like it when something stands out as different about a blog or site instead of just another me too blog/site.

Unfortunately I can't really think of anything that specialized. Even if I could, it seems like it'd be really hard to find enough material to keep it fresh, especially since I own relatively few consoles and thus for something like that wouldn't really have a big enough pool of potential games to choose from.

So right now it's looking like I'm going to try an SNES-only blog. I agree with pretty much everything you said, Gamerforlife, so I'll certainly try to make a not-very-unique topic stand out from the crowd.

As I said, I'm busy right now, but I should have it up in a week or so. Please give me your (honest) feedback when it's up. If you think it's boring and you're probably not going to read it, tell me. If you think it has potential, but have any suggestions for improvement, tell me. If by some miracle I do a good job, tell me that too . If the response to the blog itself is as lukewarm as to this thread, I'll probably just scrap it - no big deal. But hopefully you guys will find it entertaining/informative and I can keep it going.
