Saturn Modchip help.

Post by Shea »

I got this Modchip yesterday, and me and my father tried to install it today.
the chip is in place and we used the 14-pin method, but no dice.

This thing is driving me insane!
I thought I had a 32-pin US Saturn,
but the pictures in the installation guide showcase a different internal setup.

I don't know if the problem is in the chip or the ribbon,
but when the chip is installed the motor doesn't work, and the disc doesn't spin.

Please help, before this gives me an aneurysm.

What is so different? About the insides. Even the 32pin version has a couple of versions in upon itself... so there may be small differences between them.

Also, make sure that you didn't get any solder crossing pins on the IC you soldered to.

good point LOD...

I sometimes forget that the common way to install is solder directly on the IC.

I use a test clip.
