Got this game a couple days ago for $20 and started playing it today. Question:
Seems to be mostly action but there's some "rpgish" things to it like talking to people. I've only just started, but do I need to pay attention to any of this? So far I've basically been walking from left to right and just beating shit up. Does the game get to the point where I actually have to talk to people and figure out where to go or what to do? Thus far I've been zipping past all the text, because frankly, I hate anime and the story is retarded (souls melding with me or some bullshit? I have no idea). Just wondering if I should start suffering through some of the text so I'm not lost later on.
The beating the shit out of things side of the game is very awesome however.

Just follow the flag. That's pretty much all the attention you have to pay. If you want to talk to extra folk, pay attention to stats, or yada you can. I just played the game for the action and the art and I came away quite happy.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Make swords too, that's how you get more better weapons, the game's difficulty can spike at some boss fights. After you make a few swords you'll see how the sword-forge tree works.
Also, if you find a place that has some respawning enemies that give you a lot of exp, (ex. I used a spot that respawned flying beasties at the top of a mountain), go ahead and take an hour to grind to max level. It'll make everything easier if you max out in the middle of the game instead of at a point where the difficulty jumps up.

I'll pay attention to the stat screens then I guess. It was just throwing a bunch of numbers at me and I was mashing buttons to move on.

Man, that's how I get through life. It becomes a problem around tax time but other than that...Jrecee wrote:I'll pay attention to the stat screens then I guess. It was just throwing a bunch of numbers at me and I was mashing buttons to move on.
