Ugh....Amazon refund question....
Okay, so I sold a DS lite on Amazon last week and it has been shipped since. The seller e-mails me today claiming that's it's been "two weeks" and that he ordered it for a birthday party and needs it for the 5th. I told them that it was only a week and I'm sure that it will arrive before the 5th. So, then I get a message back saying "Well....I would like a refund because I found a better deal, so please send me my money back and I'll send the DS back whenever I get it." I'm not going to refund an order after it already processed and shipped because you "found a better deal". Would it be wrong if I denied the seller a refund?

Not in the slightest.
Although, watch out to see if he claims it as defective or something... :\

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of and that DS is basically new. I mean if it was something legit then sure but because "you found a better deal"? c'mon.dlmvii wrote:Not in the slightest.

Sounds like a scammer or an idiot to me. If it's been a week, that's reasonable turnaround time still. One should plan ahead better for gifts if you're buying something anywhere other than a B&M. If they did find a better deal, that's tough. They paid and you shipped. I find stuff cheaper all the time after I buy it. Even if everything else was kosher and a refund was happenning, you shouldn't be expected to refund until the item comes back IMHO.

Correct, and if it's for a b-day then why didn't you message me telling me as such and asking me to ship faster? You hit the nail on the hammer with scammer, that's the first thing I thought when I read the e-mail. I mean you're switching up reasons and then you want the money back before I get the item? I'm not that stupid sorry. And sorry for this thread I just needed to vent....Hobie-wan wrote:Sounds like a scammer or an idiot to me. If it's been a week, that's reasonable turnaround time still. P.S.: There's TONS of things I bought and seen a better price a few days later, I NEVER contacted the seller asking for a refund because I found a better deal, that's scummy.

Save that Amazon direct message, proof when scammer tries to give you a bad retort with Amazon.Kid Dracula wrote:Okay, so I sold a DS lite on Amazon last week and it has been shipped since. Sounds like a scam, and an idiot if they expect you to return the money before the item has even arrived. I don't know of any sales outlet where a buyer expects a refund before the returned item has been received by the seller.
