Japanese-only PS3 games worth importing

I'm not sure many here would be in the know, but since the PS3 is region free, I was wondering if there are any PS3 games worth importing, or anything on the Japanese PSN to warrant creating a fake Japanese account and then importing Japanese point cards to get in on the Japan-only goods.

Of particular interest:

2D Fighting
Shmups
Platforming, 2D or 3D
Anything extremely unlikely to be localized.

The Japanese PSN has a lot of PS1 classics that aren't on the US PSN, including several shmups. I'm not really aware of much in the way of JP PS3-only games that are worth having, though. The only one off the top of my head is Tales of Vesperia, but that's text heavy.

Trust me, there is nothing that fits in the categories that you listed. All they have there that they don't have here are JRPGs, dating sims, mahjong, pachislot, etc. PSN games are much better because you can get good PS1 shmups.

The Japan-only physical PS3 games I have are Initial D Extreme Stage, 428 Fusa Sareta Shibuya, Railfan (Chicago), Ryu ga Gotoku: Kenzan!, and Baseball Spirits 6. None of which fit your criteria, but if you have any questions about them, just ask here!

Namco has been slacking off in U.S. for not releasing that Tales Vespira for ps3. I want my Pac-man championship edition to come out on PS3 and wii. That retro Galaga remix should be on PS3 or wii.

I'm still blindly optimistic that we will get Verperia PS3, but until then, I'm going to continue spamming Namco with annoying emails asking about it. There's not really much available that fits your description, because most games that are worth importing for the PS3 are:

1. Already localized
2. Nippon Ichi is localizing it
3. A PSN game
4. Ridiculously text-heavy

Remember a time when Mortal Kombat had given sega genesis a secret for blood mode. Now for No more heroes they have to use their imagination. I still haven't played no more heroes 1 or 2. Ichi the killer movie had way more blood or violence in the flick.

How is Initial D for PS3? I'm a fan of the arcade Initial D 3. I'm a little surprised the Japanese PSN is so lackluster...isn't the PS3 king in Japan?

About fighting games, does anyone know if there are plans to make Arcana Heart 3 or a new Melty Blood for PS3? I really like them on the PS2 and would love to see HD versions.

As far as home consoles are concerned, the Wii is king in Japan.

Initial D is a great arcade-style racer. A lot of dialogue, but entertaining.
You just choose a region and become the touge king of each while battling different people.

But consoles are not as popular there as they used to be, right? I reckon the DS and the PSP seem to be overwhelmingly more popular than home systems. What do you think?
