Google help

Post by joehero »

Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone here new how you get your business placed at the top of the page with the map. Here is an example of what im talking about.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe ... y&gs_rfai=

I have a property management company, and would like to get placed on the map section at the top like the other companies. Is this a pay feature? If so what is it called? And where do I go to set it up. Thanks!

It's done through Google AdWords, I believe.

I actually love the new pictures search. I don't have to keep hitting "next" to load a new page of images. It looks really nice, too.

You have organic searches, and inorganic searches. Google those terms to find out more.

In order to have your firm listed #1, you have to use search engine optimization (seo), which is usually done through a third party. The quality of your SEO will also be determined by how your website was written, the code that was used, and your urls. If your site is not up to date, forget about it. Cascading code? Forget about it. But, if you're good to go, expect to pay around $2000-3000usd for quality SEO that might not get you to #1, but hopefully on the first page.

93% leave (bounce) google if they don't find what they are looking for on the first page, so if you utilize SEO and you're not on the first page, you wasted all that money.

And here are two url's with similar products:

http://www.herrschners.com/product.aspx ... oupid=5477

http://buy.caron.com/Product/Simply-Sof ... Code=01000

The first url is ugly as sandra bernhard, and will really hinder SEO. There is nothing about the product in the url.

The second url is what you need to shoot for. Not only does it include the product name, but also the product ID number.

If tldr, in short, it ain't easy or cheap to get a #1 rank on google search. It all has to be planned out.
