Great review! I've also played "Dark Savior" and thought you hit the nail on the head. It's got an awesome graphical look and feel to it, but it's marred by the frustrating platforming elements and the wonky fight mechanics.
I'd agree that it's still worth a look despite all its flaws, because never before have I seen all of these elements (isometric viewpoint, heavy on platforming, top-view combat decided by best of three rounds) mashed together into one game.
Even if these elements don't really work well together, it's still a unique experience.
And I'm changing the title now. I have no idea why I wrote it as a Dreamcast game
Edit: Also if you're wondering about the glitch, you know the 4th parallel does not allow you to save? you also have a timelimit if you remember. Well I got right to the end when you're about to get on the boat (and the timer goes down to just a minute) when I got completely stuck under a bloody house and could not move!
It was particulalry frustrating because it was my third attempt at the 4th parallel.

Wow... I just had a similar experience. I was on the boat at the end of the 4th parallel, and my Saturn froze up before I could save. Yikes.
At least I know how to do all of the final dungeons now. Ugh.
Edit: Just ran through the 4th parallel again. Got through it this time. Pheww. Now on to the 1st and 2nd parallels (yes, I started with 3/4 because I'm stupid like that).
