Were there promotional copies of Radio Allergy (GCN/NTSC)?

Post by noiseredux »

There's hands-on reviews of the US version of Radio Allergy out there. Like this one: http://cube.ign.com/articles/778/778755p1.html that even confirms it plays well on both GCN and Wii. I know the game was cancelled in the US, but were promo copies printed up and sent out for review purposes? That would be one hell of a cool collectible if so.

Almost certainly. I have heard in many situations where they ask for the copy back or just have a employee go with the game. This is a very lo key game, so I wouldn't be surprised if the hands on journalist just played it in a both at a convention.

I never thought of this. Well, it looks like I'll have something to look out for as a possible GC collector's item.

Man, for a game thats good but not great, its seems to have been released for just about every system. I already own it for the Dreamcast and Wii as part of the Ulimate Shooting Collection. And I know its out for the PS2 as well in Europe and Japan. Did this get a release anywhere on the GC? Or was it just flat out cancelled due to it being released on the Ultimate Shooting Collection?

It was released in Japan for GCN I believe. They ported it to GCN in the US in 2007 and promoted it as a new Gamecube game "compatible with Wii" but apparently not enough retailers were willing to stock Gamecube games anymore so they just flat out cancelled the game. It's too bad. They should have just sold them through their website so fans could still get hold of it.

I wouldnt doubt that there are copies out there, but I dont think it is worth tracking down. Now the Ikaruga Sake set:

Piques my interest. But I might have a way to print on porcelain like that in the near future so I might make my own.

Beer and gaming is only for arcade games at my house. Gauntlet and Warlords specifically.

Typically we hit the cheap wine if we are drinking and gaming.

wine hits me too fast. Light watery beer is the way to go for games. Bud Light and Mega Man X have been going well this week.

Beer hits me like a hurricane so I have to go easy on it - Doc says I am probably mildly allergic to hops. Most wines usually settle well though. Same with whiskey, but now we are getting way off topic.

I know the sequel came out on the Wii not too long ago, anyone play it yet?
