This game is hard. S1mplehumar, dsheinem and I played a couple of rounds yesterday and it kicked our ass.

Once I get used to the strange control system I'll be fine. Wish they would allow you use a dual stick controller. It would be sweet with a Smash TV style control system.

Yeah, me and dsheinem played some earlier on Insanity difficulty. Lols were had.

I'm at level 20 now though. I like some of the items that open up for you as you level. I definitely prefer playing the Officer with shotguns and power fist.

I played through the single player practice level. It's pretty cool. It plays a bit like Shadowgrounds or Alien Breed: Impact, but the controls are more fluid and fast paced. Though I haven't had much of a chance to utilize it, I think I'm going to love the ability to weld doors shut. I imagine that as the swarms grow, that will be a necessity for survival and conservation of ammo. Things could get pretty intense if you are trying to block off swarms on one side, while fighting down swarms on the other, and trying to break through to the next room before the door blows off.

Downloading tonight. For those who have it I know it uses WASD and a mouse, but can I play it with a spinner or second joystick? Just curious.

Ok I finally figured out how to use my 360 controller:
1. Go to the options-keyboard and mouse-and check the use developer's console.
2. Start the game and hit the ` key
3. type exec 360controller_xbox.cfg for a 360 controller
or
type exec 360controller_pc.cfg for other dual analog controllers.
