First, yall should know that if you purchase this game at Toys R Us now thru Sat you get a free $25 gift card with the purchase. Pretty sweet deal! I have only gotten to play 20 minutes but Galaxy does look great already.

Second, I could not get into Sunshine despite being a fan of the company, mascot and the previous games. I won't bother to go into detail because succinct critiques are readily available, regardless of the alleged fludd of baseless ones.

I'm very happy with the success of this game, its very pleasing to see a game that really is all(and has always been about) gameplay rape all of these over hyped big budget games in the reviews department. Great stuff.

The game is yet to be released down here in Australia, so I'll be preordering the game to get a free guide which is actually a tremendous deal considering that they cut the price $AUD20 off and then throw in the $AUD30 game guide.

I'd love to know how Sunshine didn't keep hold of you. I cant imagine how. Please tell me you played it more than 20 minutes, because the game does "fludd" you with cutscenes for a while.

Sunshine and Wind Waker are very similar. Both took the gameplay from their N64 ancestors, improved and expanded on them. Both took to a very unique and stunning graphical style that will age very well over the years. Both came down to earth a bit, and tried being a little more silly and a little less epic. Unfortunately both were a little lazy on the music, and preferred to heavily rely on old themes, create maybe 1 or 2 memorable new ones, and then just spam nonsensical yet appropriate-per-stage music everywhere.

Dunno why I bring up Wind Waker. Just had a little revelation there...

Alright, since the Microcar museum I took the day off of work to go see with my old man happens to be closed pretty much for the rest of the year - even though the site says open...I got to plug some more time in. I got my sixty star ending, another 60 to go as Mario. There were some iffy parts and yes the bosses are a bit easy, but man was it a cool game. The toy stage had a strong Clockwork Knight vibe both in layout and style, and the spring is very much like the boot in 3d. A worthy $50 game and since I had to buy two copies, now I have another $50 to spend at Toysrus...Now I know how I am going to fund my lightgun addiction.

Hurray for the $25 GC. I thought it was only the day it was released so thanks for the heads up. I just went and got it and hope to be playing shortly.

Update: Got the game, and it is amazing. It's a combination of every good aspect of each Mario game. If you're a platformer fan, you'll love it.
