Upgrading Softmodded Xbox Hard Drive
Upgrading Softmodded Xbox Hard Drive
I've been looking around for an easy way to upgrade my original xbox hard drive to a 500GB hard drive, but every tutorial seems to be very complicated or out of date. My xbox has been softmodded with UnleashX. Any suggestions?
Re: Upgrading Softmodded Xbox Hard Drive
I did it by FTPing in to my softmodded xbox. Then I burned an xboxhdm cd and installed my hard drive on to my PC. Set my dvd rom drive to boot and then follow the instuctions on http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=244043. I first time I've done this too so it wasn't that hard.

I've always used this tutorial: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html
It seems intimidating at first, but it's really easy to do and totally worth it.
Make sure your drive is listed as compatible:

I did the same. I used the xbhdm tool to upgrade mine to a 500gb. I also recently put a 750gb drive in a TSOP flashed Xbox as well.

Oh both seem to be pretty good tutorials, I think I'm going to go with http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-185.html. It looks like I'll have to put in the new hard drive into my PC and use xboxhdm to basically format it and then take it out and put it in the xbox.
Re: Upgrading Softmodded Xbox Hard Drive
if you have a v1.0-1.5 xbox just bridge the two point on the mobo to enable flashing to TSOP and use eurasia pro-flasher.
Then you can upgrade the HDD with auto installer deluxe and there is no need to lock the HDD.
If you can find out what version xbox you have I can help you do this the easy way with no soldering skills.
