Re: Nominate The Best Retro Sports Games
I'd nominate The Games - Summer/Winter Edition by Epyx
these games did not only sport the best of Summer Games 1+2/Winter Games, but with tremendous graphics and smooth animations
great past-time with friends and family
Skate or Die! - for the Commodore 64.
sorry but the NES version is inferior in this matter
California Games - a wide variety of summer sports, ranging from rollerskating, bmx, surfing, etc.
World Games - Commodore 64
weightlifting, cliff-diving, etc. it had a lot to offer and of course great, great mutliplayer fun
Microprose Soccer - Commodore 64
because, honestly... it kicks Kick Off 2's balls
Caveman UGH!Lympics - Commodore 64
stone-age olympics
lots of humor blended with great mulltiplayer
Speedball 2 - Amiga/Genesis
Bloodbowl - Amiga/PC

Strike for Super Nintendo is pretty good as old football games go. Super Tennis is good too. Generally i prefer the less realistic sports games though.
And obviously track and field needs mentioned, although i imagine it already has.

Re: Nominate The Best Retro Sports Games
The list is rather NES, MD, and SNES heavy, but I really like:
NBA Jam: Tournament Edition (MD, SNES)
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (NES)
NHL Hockey '94 (MD)
FIFA '95 (MD)
Tecmo Super Bowl (NES)
Blades of Steel (NES)
Sensible Soccer: International Edition (MD, SNES)
Pete Sampras Tennis (MD)
Super Ultra Baseball 2 (SNES)
Ice Hockey (NES)
Are there any good sports games for the Master System or TG-16?

just to be sure, there was no European GCN releases... right?Josh wrote:HUH?pepharytheworm wrote: Teleroboxer - Virtualboy
To add to my post at the beginning, Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu is a sports series, based on Baseball, for the Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, Playstations 1 and 2, Gamecube, Wii, PSP, DS, and iPhone. The only problem is, ALL of the games are Japan exclusives except for MLB Power Pros 2007 and 2008 for the PS2 and Wii. The games are, in my opinion, some of the finer games, and have a pretty good RPG mode.

Nope. Not even the American games made it to Europe, unfortunately.
Collects promo gaming stuff, certain import games, hockey memorabilia, and other oddball things. (sig and avy under construction)

damn, I'd love to import a Gamecube version, but I can't see myself trying to get thru the Japanese text-intensive parts.Josh wrote:Nope. Not even the American games made it to Europe, unfortunately.
