The region ring has not been cracked, meaning even burnt games require something to play them. So there is no Saturn counterfeits in that no disc will run in a unmodified Saturn.

You wont be buying Saturn counterfeits, that's for sure, if you can play it (and you dont have a chip), its real, that simple. And if you buy it and it ends up burnt, you can file a report with ebay as its against its TOS.

Yeah, making a counterfeit Saturn game would require the original glass master for the imprinted security code that is pressed into the disc when it was initially manufactured.

That having been said buying on eBay and anywhere online always poses a risk to both parties involved. The best thing you can do is to bid on an auction that has lots of pictures, a long and or well written item description that also tells you what condition the discs are in, and that the user at least has a decent amount of positive feedback. Remember to ask the seller questions if you're curious about an item's description or just want to know more about it, if the seller responds quickly and politely then you're looking at someone who will most likely be an honest and upfront seller.
