Hi everyone,
The last post i wrote was about what everybody did in the summer and the games that they played to make the rainy days go by during the summer. I got to thinking of how bad a couple of games that i recieved as a kid and i thought that i might not be the only one. I had three games that come to mind. The first one was deadly towers for the nes. I let a kid borrow mt punch out to borrow deadly towers and when i played it i wanted punch out back a.s.a.p but i promised i would let him play it for a week. So a kid from my school wanted to borrow deadly towers and i let him. After a few days the kid told me that it got stolen and then i had to tell my buddy that his game was stolen. For that I had to pay 50.00 and let him keep punch out.
Second and third games are pretty much the same story. I would go to the arcade and play Cobra command and wwf superstars and I remember seeing ads that the classic arcade ports are now on the nes for these games. I saved my money and 50.00 later for each game I brought home and YUK, WTF they looked nothing like the arcade especially wwf wrestling challenge. So now 20 years later I bought a nes and I picked up those games just for the memories. Anyone out there wanna share their stories?
did you every buy a bad game just for the memories?

Heh. I fell victim to the old "stolen" NES game trick. Didn't cost me fifty dollars, though. Just my copy of Donkey Kong Jr.

It would piss me off something shocking if someone lent something I lent to them to someone else, while I wont say you deserved it, its a stupid move to begin with.
I remember when I was younger I loved playing Puzznic on the PC, so I saw it on the NES awhile back and picked it up, I remember it being an amazing puzzle game, it's really quite average, but I still have the cart for the childhood memories of liking it.

Oh you bet your arse I did. I still do that quite often...Sometimes if the memories of playing the game (usual friday nights and weekends renting games from Home Run Video and staying up late playing them and eating pizza) were too fond and fun for me that the game in question can continue to be just as fun and hold the same affection regardless of how bad it might be in game design and whatnot. A good example of that for me is Bart's Nightmare for the SNES.

Yeah I know it was a stupid move I was only 12 when it happened and i felt bad. If it helps My parents beat me with a belt(wish sometimes that was still allowed to do these days) and i was grounded for two weeks. I also lost a friend out of it tooemwearz wrote:It would piss me off something shocking if someone lent something I lent to them to someone else, while I wont say you deserved it, its a stupid move to begin with.
