I have a copy of this game CIB, never played it though. When I bought my Genesis from a friend, this game (as well as many others) came with it.

Anyone ever seen Spinal Tap? Taking a cue from that. I can give Pit Fighter a 2 word review:

Shit Fighter

Joking aside, I remember the game as being very ahead of it's time with the graphics. Maybe the older gamers like myself appreciated it for it's novelty 20 years ago. So it sucked....I didn't care because it looked cooler than anything else then.

And I hear ya for sticking up for crappy games you find nostalgic.. I'm probably the only die-hard Battle Arena Toshinden fan in the world.. Seriously, I loved BAT2 when that game came out!

I recently talked up the GB port of Battle Arena. I loved the PS1 game (or um, demo as it was).

I was just thinking, Pit Fighter would make a great Together Retro game. Think about it: it's got like a million ports. Everybody KNOWS about it, but probably few of us have spent any extended period of timing playing it. And it's got a reputation for being so horribly bad, that it's almost this important part of gaming history. Like it probably should be experienced by retro gamers. Maybe next year.

I'd love to devote a four hour podcast to this game.
