Nintoaster Project

Post by jeffro11 »

Well I decided I'd like a Nintoaster. I also decided I need a new project... This is what I've decided to work on in my spare time.

After a recent trade with weaponepsilon I got an NES and a toaster. What more could I ask for, its all right there for me. So I started working on it last night and tore apart the toaster so I can work inside of it. I disassembled the Nintendo and cleaned everything up, and trimmed the board so size.

After a quick dry fit in the toaster case, I cut out a piece of thick paper (almost like a cardboard) to go behind the board so the contacts wouldn't touch the metal side of the toaster. Mounted the board with some epoxy, it's not going anywhere now.

Later today I'll be going to my workplace to I can work with more tools. I plan on cutting out pieces of acrylic for the area where you insert a piece of toast. One side will contain the controller ports and the Power/Reset buttons. The other side will house the cartridge. I plan on making a small "box" with a flange on the top to hold the cart. In the bottom the cart connector will sit.

In the mean time here is the toaster put back together with the board mounted inside of it:

As Tony says, "This is GREAT!" Are you making a straight non moving cart connector?

NES concept to a reliable level!

Gonna keep the finish of the toaster? It's not bad.

What would make this cooler is if the toaster lever was the cartridge release. Apart from that it looks really cool

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

So, does the NES shell make toast now?

Now you're toasting with POWER!
