Question: How is Phalanx so badass?

Post by noiseredux »

Seriously, Phalanx is so awesome and yet I always feel like people only talk about its cover art. What a great game. Anyone else as big a fan as myself?

But the cover art is so awesome! How could you have a conversation about it and not talk about the awesome art? I have never played, but i just looked on Amazon and its only like 6 or 7 bucks. I might have to check it out. I like shmups, but I also like not spending much money. So cheap shmups are even better.

Errr... what? It's alright, but good enough to justify its own thread???

Is there any game that doesn't potentially deserve its own thread on a video gaming website?

Never played the game, but definitely heard about its infamous cover art (the old man and a banjo).

I think a fair comparison is Super R-type, Area 88 (UN Squadron), and other SNES games; how does it stack up against the competition?

I'm enjoying it a lot. Not the best shmup I've played, but one of the better ones (not that I'm very knowledgeable/experienced with the genre). The cover just makes it more badass. Comparing it to other SNES shmups I own, I like it better than Super R-Type and Gradius 3, but not quite as much as Axelay or Space Megaforce.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.
